Our Ranger Anorak combines the natural rain protection of waxed cotton with the simplicity of your favorite hoodie into a minimalist shell.
The roots of historic anoraks trace back to the ancient arctic. These hooded pullovers were constructed from the skins of seals or caribou and were often treated with fish or whale oil for water resistance. Our anorak does away with animal skins and oils. Made with cotton from England’s historic British Millerain, the midweight 6-oz. fabric is treated with a special dry-wax finish for resistance to water and wind.
The quarter-length front zipper is backed by a gusset so it maintains protection when unzipped, while still allowing airflow for ventilation. The drawcord-adjustable hood is large enough to provide coverage for the sides of your face. Drawcord adjustability at the waist and hem is a model of reliable simplicity – simply cinch them to the desired snugness and tie off. The waist ties are tucked inside the kangaroo hand pocket. A snap-flap chest pocket keeps smaller essentials close at hand and secure. Double-layer back for durability and added protection. Snap-adjustable cuffs.
